Professional Makeup Courses


This is an exciting and intensive course which incorporates a two weeks makeup course from basic bridal application to an advanced bridal makeup specialist level and one week hairstyling course, enabling you to offer full service to your clients.



Over 3 weeks you will go through all makeup techniques for creating a beautiful and flawless bridal makeup and on-trend bridal hairstyling techniques. It's not just theory knowledge you will gain, it's more of the practical knowledge and hands on practice.

Once you have completed this course you will feel confident in achieving any look requested by the bride.



3 weeks includes 2 weeks Makeup & 1 week Hairstyling.


2 Week Intensive Bridal Makeup Course.



This is a two-week course designed for those wishing to learn basic professional skills up to specialised bridal level. Working in pairs, the students work on each other to gain the widest range of experience. A vast range of top brand make-up and equipment supplied for class use.



The course covers:


  • Hygiene, health and safety

  • Full client consultation: skin analysis, face shape, eye brow shape

  • Skin preparation: cleansing, toning and moisturizing

  • Contouring: facial geometry and bone structure

  • Colour wheel theory and identification (cool rose/warm peach)

  • Colour correction (warming/cooling)

  • Choosing and application of foundation

  • Concealer choice and application

  • Sun kissing (application of bronzer, shading, highlighting)

  • Powder application

  • Application of eye makeup showing a number of techniques including the classic smoky eyes and flick eyeliner

  • Application of false lashes both strip and individual

  • Lipstick, blusher application

  • Product awareness

  • Makeup according to the occasion

  • Product awareness

  • Kit building


    • 1 Week Basic Hairstyling Course



    The course covers:


  • Hygiene and Safety

  • Equipment use and description

  • Product training

  • Plaits - Three Strand, French and Fish Tail

  • Basic Blow Drying techniques

  • Hair Straightening

  • Advanced Blow Drying to create root lift and curl

  • Roller setting

  • Pin curl

  • Tonging / electrical curling

  • Hair finishing and texturizing

  • The Perfect Pony Tail

  • Twisting and pinning hair

  • Preparation for putting hair up

  • Dressing long hair - Chignon, Classic bun

  • Back combing/brushing

  • Types of hair pins and correct use

  • Creating clip-on hair extensions

  • Hair Assessment


    • We will guide you to create your portfolio which is a necessity in today's make up world. Photographic evidence is a major part of your work.. It must be included in your portfolio showing all the Variations you have achieved. Before and After shots are required to demonstrate the transformation you have made to an individual.

    Benefits of Working in a professional make-up studio environment is that it gives a good balance of demonstration and hands-on work.

    A working log of your work during your course is required, along with a short research plan and simple business plan.

    As a start to build up your portfolio, You will have to complete a practical assessment and submit a complete work of written pieces along with one colour photo-shoot.

    Requirements:


  • No previous experience required

  • Casual dress code

  • A good Level of English is required

  • You are only required to bring your own tool kit

  • You will practice with a class-mate therefore you must be willing to have make-up applied on you as well as applying it to others. Photographic evidence of make-up & hair will be required for all students
